Career Network

This workshop was conducted by Eng. Navoda Yasanthi Rillagodage, PhD Candidate in the University of Manitoba, Canada who has  experience and knowledge on career network tools and their application and importance in the modern world. Participants have had a privilege to join the workshop with no data chargers so that, we had more than 130+ participants through zoom. First Eng. Navoda Rillagodage explained what LinkedIn is, uses and importance of this career network and how LinkedIn different from other social medial tools. After that, she stepped into main topics of the workshop which are how LinkedIn works, the procedure of creating a LinkedIn profile professionally with explaining how to select a good profile photo, what should include in the profile through many example profiles in LinkedIn. 

Last few minutes of the workshop was used to explain how to use the profile in daily life; the process of posting, creating the network through the LinkedIn profile and the act of LinkedIn in this pandemic situation in the world. Finally, Eng. Navoda Rillagodage ended her talk after giving a summary with some additional tips used in this career network tool. End of the workshop participants gave us very valuable feedback. All of them were very appreciable comments and also have some suggestions for our future plans for this workshop. In the Q&A session also a great opportunity to clear the participant’s doubts about the content covered in the session and they were answered by the speaker. The workshop concluded after giving motivation to the participants on building professional life through LinkedIn.
